Uhuru reshuffles cabinet

January 14, 2020, Mombasa: President Uhuru Kenyatta has made some changes in his new cabinet.

During a public address today, January 14, at Mombasa state house lodge, Uhuru has switched Monica Juma with Rachel Omamo. Monica Juma was CS for Foreign affairs now takes over as Cabinet Secretary of Defence while Omamo goes to Foreign affairs

Same time, Agriculture Cabinet secretary Mwangi Kiunjuri is replaced by Peter Munya who was responsible for Trade.

East African Community and Regional Development CS Aden Mohammed and Eugene Wamalwa of Devolution, however, remain in their posts.

This is the new cabinet:

  • Rachel Omamo-Foreign Affairs
  • Monica Juma- Defence
  • Ekur Yattani- Treasury
  • Peter Munya- Agriculture
  • Mutahi Kagwe- Health
  • Cecily Kariuki- Water and Irrigation
  • Betty Maina-Trade
  • Simon Chelugui- Labour
