President Kenyatta today (13th DEC 2019) commissioned the newest Modika barracks for the Kenya Army 6 Brigade. The President said the establishment of the barrack will play a major role to modernize the KDF to emerging threats.
The President said Modika barrack is part of the modernizing program that will improve KDF capabilities. The barrack will be home to three army fighting units and three support subunits.
The President acknowledged the KDF key role in promoting peace in many parts of the world that they have been involved in.
He said his government will keep on dedicating adequate resources and funds to KDF to maintain it’s world-class status and defend Kenya.
The Chief of Defence Forces General Samson Mwathethe, Commander Kenya Army Lt Gen WR Koipaton and 6 Brigade Commander Brig P.K Njema were also present and spoke at the event.
The President during the launch said the military book publication will inspire Kenyans to commit to serving the country whether in uniform or civilian.
