James Mwangi ,the CEO of The Equity Bank Holdings won the Oslo Business for Peace
Award organisers recognised him for his worthy values in securing financial security.
He joins previous winners like Richard Branson of the Virgin Galatic group.

The founder of the Oslo Business award for Peace, Per Saxegaard said,” Dr. Mwangi has helped grow social revolution by offering banking services to people who had scarce access to them. He is an outstanding entrepreneur and humanitarian who has strengthened Kenya’s GDP.”
”This year’s honourees have led by using business as a tool for change. They are role models to society and their peers, have earned stakeholders’ trust, and stand out as advocates,” Per Saxegaard also said.
“Through their business activities, they have made substantial contributions towards reaching the UN SDGs specifically Goal 8: helping to achieve sustained, sustainable and inclusive growth and decent work for all,” he added.
The Equity boss devoted the award to his staff and customers who have provided motivation by trusting and believing in them .
“By walking with us, they have demonstrated resilience in pursuing their dreams and have emerged winners by improving their lives and livelihoods and bringing joy and happiness to their families and communities,” Mwangi said.
